Talking with The Go'heads about a possible new release on cassette. Sages will be missing in action while writing material for an ambitious concept album. Nirvantallica will have some new sounds sooner than later. The Respondents are still busy promoting their "Exploded View" album which you can now download for FREE (or name your price) for a limited time at http://wrong-hands.bandcamp.com/album/exploded-view 03/21/2013--This is the last week to order stuff before the website is temporarily closed as we relocate across the country. Working on getting some more releases on Bandcamp before then. 03/05/2013--WORLD BOOK THREE cassette is now available!! Also, we have decided to make international purchases easier by adding a button (above) that charges a flat fee of $10. The US Postal Service recently raised their rates and it's pretty outrageous now to send stuff overseas. There is only one $10 charge required per order, just add it to your cart before checkout. It obviously makes sense to order multiple items. If the actual shipping cost is less than that, we will refund the difference. Might actually have to charge more after we see how this works out for a few orders. 02/23/2013--The "Sourcebook One" compilation by Sages, a FREE download featuring an exclusive cover of the Twin Peaks theme, will be removed March 5th when the "World Book Three" cassette is released. So head over to our Bandcamp page and download it while you still can! Nirvantallica's early works are now completely sold out. Grab the "Alpha-neighbor" cassette while you can. Prices have just been reduced on several items! Our prices include free shiping (in the US) and are cheaper than the average digital download. 01/29/2013-- Two new releases will be available next month! The Respondents "Exploded View" CD on February 14th and then Sages "World Book Three" cassette shortly behind it. Both feature cover art by the mighty Dr. von Zzyzx (we ran out of the mini art zines we were stuffing orders with but you can follow him on Instagram to get your monster fix... username: @von_zzyzx). Side B of the new Sages tape, Observances, is being featured as part of a FREE compilation album titled "Sourcebook One" on our Bandcamp page. In addition to the new track and others from previous releases, the download also features an exclusive cover version of the theme to Twin Peaks! Not sure how long the download will be available so go check it out! Also, not sure how long the last two physical copies of the "World Book One" cassette will be around, so I suggest you make your move if you desire to own the trilogy. 12/14/2012--Finally replacing the music player on the site so that songs can be played easier on other devices. An embedded Bandcamp player is now up along with an unmastered preview of a new song by The Respondents called "Ghost Bus". 11/02/2012--The Respondents are finishing up a new album of twangy, instrumental surf-rock and there should be some audio samples soon... so check back! 10/10/12--Prices have been lowered on several items!! The "Brains" cassette is now only $2 and would make the perfect spooky soundtrack for the upcoming Halloween holiday! Grab one if you're nearby! This places "pop/rock" section would be the "experimental" section at any other store. Just spent all of the money I brought for this entire vacation at the very first stop, haha! 06/20/12--The artwork by von Zzyzx for Sages World Book One got mentioned on the Juxtapoz Magazine website! Check it out HERE! 05/20/12--If you missed out on CIABSOC's "Everything 'Cause I'm A Bacteria" CD when it sold out from Anal Birth years ago, you can now pick up our fancy reissue we just did for them... packaged in real petri dishes! The price is higher than we wanted to list it for but this is due to the mailing supplies needed to protect the plastic dish from the wrath of the postal service. 04/22/12--NIRVANTALLICA "Alpha Neighbor" is out now! Sages "World Book Three" cassette (WH0-17) Instrumental avant-adventure-rock influenced by modern US black metal. On the first side "Grave Tree" pushes the limits of acceptable genre breeding when a circus tent waltz bleeds into a tropical black metal experiment. Side B features "Observances" a somber yet surprisingly progressive composition with triumphant bursts of melodica that put you in the procession of an elaborate memorial service for some ancient royalty. Just like the previous tapes, this one is limited to 30 hand-numbered copies. $4 ppd The Respondents "Exploded View" cdr (WH0-16) Experimental surf-punk with touches of post-rock...steady!!? The return of The Respondents strays even further from their very vocal beginnings (although they probably can't stay quiet for too long) with an entirely instrumental affair. An interesting atmosphere of rattling spring reverb, chainsaw tremolo picking, and twangy gunslinger melodies jolted by the ringing alarm of the ride cymbal and spooked by the swampy toms. It's like a skate-rock soundtrack to a spy movie set on a haunted desert island. "...it’s eccentric, something I’ve never even heard... It’s like if you blend Hawaii with a more sinister Count Dracula-esque Romania of the past." -Invisible Guy Although we recommend picking up one of the 50 hand-numbered copies with artwork by von Zzyzx, it is also available as a digital download HERE. $4 ppd <img src="WH0-15.JPG"> Sages "World Book Two" cassette (WH0-14) Those who talk don't know, those who know don't talk. $4 ppd Christ In A Bucket and the Sons Of Cock "Everything 'Cause I'm A Bacteria." mini cdr in petri dish (WH0-13) A frantic and brutal 18 minute guitar/drums/bass improvisation. Pure telepathic communication meets intense instrument manipulation, resulting in an audio oddity of face-melting forces. This deluxe reissue of their 2007 EP not only includes a rare compilation track, it literally gets the perfect packaging upgrade using actual plastic petri dishes this time! Limited to 40 copies. $4 ppd The Respondents "As The Ratings Rise" cdr (WH0-12) A frightful blend of fierce punk and spooky skate rock that will haunt your head with maniacal melodies and contagious power-chord arrangements! Initially released back in 2007 on the mythical Anal Birth Records, this deluxe reissue features completely remastered audio as well improved artwork recreated from the original paintings and source material (stare into the static too long and you'll be surprised at what you see). Also in this new version, the agitated anarcho-punk rantings are finally featured in a booklet containing the complete lyrical transcriptions. Although the band inched toward instrumentals with twangy surf and rocksteady on their next release, they also pursued a prog-punk quirkiness that is certainly better understood after hearing this album. Packaged in over-sized white poly cases; limited to 50 numbered copies. Also includes a link to an MP3 download of the out of print cassette released on Wrong Hands in 2009 (thirty more minutes of music!). $5 ppd Nirvantallica "Alpha Neighbor" cassette (WH0-11) Living in apartments is hell. Especially if you are a musician. It's either going to be hard on you... or them. The first side is guaranteed to drive everyone in your building nuts with nauseating harsh sounds similar to being surrounded by malfunctioning slots in a Vegas casino with borderline alcohol poisoning unable to find your way out of the dysphoric maze of machines, confusing carpet, and mindless bodies. If you can make it through the first track without puking, you'll also hear Nirvantallica's first ever use of words/lyrics in a cover song of a well known artist. Side two feaures mutilated records played on an antique gramophone, signal noise from smart phones, field recordings of noisy neighbors and occupied places; all manipulated and marinated in distortion and reverb with a dash of blackened buzzing guitar. This is the perfect album to blast in retaliation to the party upstairs or the 7am lawn mower nextdoor. It's time to show your obnoxious neighbors what kind of "music" you really listen to. $4 ppd Sages "World Book One" cassette (WH0-10) Fans of modern U.S. black metal will surely find sonic similarities on this cassette of new material from instrumental adventure-rock artist Sages. Almost as long as the debut CDEP released last year; here the running time is divided into two epic 10 minute long adventures in environmental invocation. On the first side "Voice In The Well" begins with an earthy acoustic guitar, but unexpectedly launches you into outer-space as aetherphone (a primitive electronic instrument) competes for the lead melody with a fuzzy, distorted guitar. Soon you are soaring back down through an ozone of reverb and eventually returned to the ground for another round of acoustic plucking that builds into an exotic drum ritual. The remainder of the song alternates between these majestic highs and haunting lows. The second side "Mountain Of Immortals" was recorded during the brutal Midwest blizzard at the start of February 2011, so it's fitting that winter storm field recordings play over the intro, but these field recordings are unique! They are from replicas of the vinyl records that NASA placed aboard Voyager to help accurately represent earth's sounds to alien creatures! This song is ominous and diabolically beautiful. It's probably important to note that the drums are programmed but do not detract from the impact at all. Limited to 30 hand-numbered copies. $4 ppd
The Go'heads cdr (WH0-09) The debut album by Las Vegas desert-punk unit, The Go'heads! If you hadn't been told it was the new solo project from object manipulation enthusiast, The New Steve, you would swear it was an entire band of proficient musicians each with their own musical voice. This stems from the fact that great attention is paid to each instrument and the album is not just a platform for one unique soloist's ability or gimmick. The guitar has the twang and treble of skate-rock, the bass has agile fretwork accented with percussive smacks and galloping melodies, and the drumming is technical and engaging. From the first misanthropic observation, the lyrics distort the definition you develop about them as you listen to each song. Philosophical, political, or just plain sick of it all?! The songs shape shift between urgent and careless ending in an epic apocalyptic acoustic anthem. When you finally think you've found a spot for this on your CD shelves, we think it will probably be somewhere near Queen's Of The Stone Age, Agent Orange, and The Living End. 50 hand-numbered copies on translucent, bright blue CD's. $4 ppd Sages "EP" cdr (WH0-08) The name of this instrumental, introverted, one-man studio project is a nod to the ancient Taoist masters. The interplay between the folky acoustic guitar and the buzzing electric guitar functions in the same way that natural opposing forces seem to compliment and even define each other. Night and day become quiet and loud. Life and death become major and minor chords. Crooked and straight are alternate time signatures. In contrast to the warm guitars, cold synth/midi drums infuse the obvious influence of classic 8-bit game soundtracks into the music... but describing the final outcome is a challenge. Let's just say that the tremolo picking could have just as easily been influenced by surf as it could by black metal. The arrangements by classical as much as rock, and the meaning by muzak as much as punk. 20 minutes long, 50 copies made, packaged in hand-sewn felt pouches with a 1" button. $4 ppd Christ in A Bucket and the Sons Of Cock "The Sand Will Not Be At Your Breakfast Party" 3x3" cdr set (WH0-07) The final release from this Las Vegas improv collective is a three 3" CD set intended for simultaneous and/or individual play. Each disc features one instrument (drums, guitar, and bass respectively) and has a different take on both the left and right channel. This results in so many different versions of the song (depending on the quantity of CD players you own, as well as their ability to pan between speakers) that we're having a hard time figuring out how many there actually are (the equation might have something to do with factorials?!). Limited to 20 copies in tri-fold packaging. $4 ppd Primordial Soup 3" cdr (WH0-06) A spirit journey of an improvisation (18 min long!) performed by Marquis of The Leisure Cast, who also contributed the art, and Mike of Nirvantallica. If you've ever wondered what it sounds like to be swimming through a murky swamp during a thunderstorm, only to find out that it was being used as a robot graveyard, and now they are returning to life... well, then this is the song for you! Edition of 25 hand-numbered copies in miniature jewel cases. "It's like being born." $3 ppd
Nirvantallica untitled cassette (WH0-05) This tape begins with an audio experiment involving just that... tape. Packing and masking tape are used to produce some bizarre buzzing and crackling sounds until the next song (for theremin and reverb drenched clothes dryer) comes crashing in over it. It's not long before you feel like you are going to be eaten alive by a swarm of robot birds! The only thing that can save you is a protective ritual of swampy, synth filled free-improvisation that features Nirvantallica's first use of conventional percussive instruments. Side B is another noisy adventure altogether, containing a 15 minute maze of minimalism you'll get lost in! $4 ppd
The Respondents untitled cassette (WH0-04) This tape not only compiles new and progressive composition from these Las Vegas locals, it also features some rarities and improvised outtakes! This release sees them moving in an increasingly instrumental direction, still punky but particularly towards twangy surf and rocksteady. Edition of 30 hand-numbered copies. $4 ppd
Christ In A Bucket And The Sons Of Cock "Brains" cassette (WH0-03) A brain-eating blend of buzzing feedback and swirling percussion. Intended to be enjoyed in solitude as a soundtrack to compliment your surrounding environment... the more remote, the better the effect. Perfect in headphones during a lonley stroll down a dark, desolate street. Even better for a midnight hike along a campground trail. One long improvisation split between two sides of a blood splattered cassette. Limited to 30 copies. $2 ppd Nirvantallica "Yucca Mountain b/w 3270" cdr (WH0-02) A 20 minute EP featuring a psychedellic excavation of an improvisation (fretless electric bass and hand drum), as well as Nirvantallica's first ever composition (a phasing experiment with a pulsing piano score). Limited to 50 hand-numbered copies with a glow in the dark CD and transparent x-ray film insert. $4 ppd
Nirvantallica "Nirvantallica" cdr (WH0-01) 53 minutes of clanky, spacey, and abrasive audio experiments. From the droning sound of dreams to the shrieking noises of nightmares, Nirvantallica have grown bored with traditional arrangements and have constructed an avant-garde artifact full of odd sounds and unlikely instruments. Limited to 70 hand-numbered copies with maze insert. $5 ppd
